Genevieve’s dance journey began at the age of 2, and she quickly developed a love of dancing. By age 5 she was dancing competitively, and over the course of her dance career has competed in styles such as ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, and modern. In ballet she has trained in a variety of syllabi, notably the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, where she successfully completed her Advanced ballet exam.
Her love of dance and her commitment to learning has led to a number of incredible opportunities including competing as a member of Team Canada Dance in Czechia, South Africa, Belgium, and Poland.
By age 10 she was an assistant dance teacher, and since has been a substitute and permanent dance teacher of a variety of dance styles. These experiences, in addition to a number of years spent volunteering in an elementary school classroom, developed in her a passion for teaching. Having witnessed the different learning styles and personalities exhibited by students in both the classroom and the ballet studio she is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Genevieve is honoured to have had the opportunity to help students learn and grow as dancers, and is very excited to be joining the teaching staff at Ballet Etc…
Currently, Genevieve is working towards a degree in Applied Linguistics at Brock University. In her free time she enjoys reading, baking, learning new languages, travelling to experience other cultures and participating in Brock Dance.
